Painter’s studios and galleries, antique shops, restaurants, wine bars, pubs, and other small shops line both sides of the canal. On the last Sunday of every month an outdoor antique market with more than 400 stalls offers a unique browsing and buying experience.
The Naviglio Grande is one of the few still visible canals that was part of an extended water system built since the 12th century. The Naviglio Grande still maintains part of its old charm, especially in the stretch between the Darsena of Porta Ticinese and the bridge of Via Valenza.
